Hello, friends! I'm Rev. James Admans, a pastor, preacher, and public theologian devoted to fostering a world that is more just, compassionate, and grounded in love.
My ministry is deeply rooted in the belief that God’s love is radical, inclusive of all people, and freely available to everyone, no exceptions.
Whether you know me as Pastor James or Reverend Marge, I strive to embody these values in every aspect of my work, creating spaces where individuals feel seen, valued, and embraced for who they truly are. For me, ministry is about living out the transformative power of love and justice in ways that inspire hope and change in our world.

At the heart of everything I do is a ministry built on compassion, community, and connection. My calling is rooted in a deep love for scripture and a commitment to walking alongside people in their moments of joy, grief, and questioning.
My work creates sacred spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. I believe the church is called to be a brave, inclusive community. For God so loved the world, as John 3:16 reminds us, and it's our mission as Christians to ensure that radical love is made real for all people, with no exceptions.
Creative Worship & Prophetic Preaching
I craft worship experiences that are deeply spiritual and culturally relevant, connecting ancient scripture to the urgent call for justice in our world today. My sermons are designed to challenge, inspire, and empower congregations to live out their faith with courage, putting their faith into action and becoming the hands and feet of God in a world that needs it most.
Building Vibrant, Beloved Community
My approach to ministry extends beyond Sunday services to building thriving, engaged communities during the week. I have experience guiding churches in their growth, from establishing essential outreach programs like food and clothing ministries to launching dynamic digital platforms that extend our reach and message to thousands. A core part of my work is cultivating a radically welcoming atmosphere where newcomers don't just feel accepted, but are truly seen, embraced, and quickly integrated into the life of the community.
Justice-Led Ministry
Guided by Micah 6:8, I am dedicated to pursuing justice, showing mercy, and walking humbly with God. This calling drives me to participate in protests against injustice, use my voice to advocate for collective liberation, and work to empower the church as a transformative force for good. I believe in encouraging the church to take meaningful action, both within its community and beyond, to create lasting change rooted in love, compassion, and justice.
A Lifelong Learner
Grounded in my M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary, a renowned center for progressive Christianity and liberation theology, I bring theological depth to my work. I facilitate studies on topics ranging from queer figures in scripture to the gnostic gospels, making the Bible accessible and freeing for all, especially for those who have had scripture used against them.
